Twinkling Lights in Washington, D.C.

A few years ago I was in D.C. on vacation with my mother and sister, and even though it was a warm early fall evening, they still had twinkle lights up on some of the trees.  It was so lovely to see this whimsical touch against the weighty and important stone buildings and monuments - even politicians must love the contrast.
